Fight for democracy: Petition.

Yesterday my petition Automatically suspend and recall MPs charged with violent or sexual crimes became live and I encourage everyone to sign it.

I'm sure many people have realised, we do live in strange times, and we do have a strange bunch of people to represent us in parliament.
Many Members of Parliament do not deserve to be there, and I am sure that many reading this article can agree, we all work, we all have our own experience and knowledge, indeed many of us might make better Members of Parliament than the current batch.
Members of Parliament receive a salary of £93,000, how many of you earn that much or have ever seen that amount?

When an MP is changed with a crime like sexual assault, then they tarnish the already lower reputation of politicians and they also insult their constituents and betray their trust - Democracy means rule of the people, democracy is a conversation and democracy has broken down in our country.
When an MP fails, then I think it is only right and fair that a by-election be call so that somebody else might have a chance to better represent the people of that constituency.

MPs who are charged with serious crimes and are excluded from the Parliamentary estate continue to receive a full salary (£93K) while unable to fulfil their full duties.
This undermines trust in the democratic process and leaves constituents without effective representation. We believe Parliament should ensure that MPs are promptly suspended and subjected to recall, so the public has the right to act via recall petition if they choose.
