Save Lloyds Avenue
I have teamed up with the Ipswich Taxi Alliance to support a growing public campaign against the proposed redevelopment of Lloyds Avenue in Ipswich.
We are backing a local petition calling on Ipswich Borough Council to rethink plans that threaten to marginalise some of our most vulnerable residents, as well as damage livelihoods and local heritage.
The petition “Help us fight for the rights of our elderly, disabled, football fans & local businesses”.
It raises serious concerns about how the pedestrianisation of Lloyds Avenue would reduce access for elderly and disabled people, remove vital taxi ranks, and impact traders such as Young’s Fish Ltd., a fixture of Ipswich town centre for decades.
Local voices are already speaking up!
As reported in the Ipswich Star, opposition is growing!
Taxi drivers, disabled residents, football fans, and businesses all say the plans are being pushed through without proper consultation or care for community needs.
We believe in development that works with the people of Ipswich — not against them.
➡️ Please take a moment to read and sign the petition. The future of our town centre should reflect all of us.
